Kylie Jenner is taking another major step into scripted entertainment. The beauty entrepreneur and reality-TV star is set to headline and executive produce a new thriller drama for Hulu, tentatively titled Bachelorette Weekend. The project is currently nearing a straight-to-series order, and it marks Jenner’s first major starring role in a scripted television production.
The upcoming series is already attracting significant attention because of its unusual premise, its connection to the Kardashian-Jenner family and Jenner’s growing interest in acting. The story centers on a group of close friends whose celebratory bachelorette weekend takes a dark turn when the bride is found murdered.
Adding another major layer to the project, Kylie Jenner will work alongside her older sister Kim Kardashian, who is also attached as an executive producer. Author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver is creating the series, while Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment is also involved.
What Is Bachelorette Weekend About?
The thriller follows a group of friends who gather for what should be an unforgettable bachelorette celebration. Instead, the weekend becomes a murder mystery when the bride, played by Kylie Jenner, is discovered dead in a pool.
The shocking death immediately changes the dynamic among the friends. Rather than simply grieving their friend, the women find themselves under suspicion as investigators attempt to determine what happened.
According to reports, Jenner’s character may have a short physical presence in the story because of the murder, but she remains central to the narrative. Entertainment Weekly described the murdered bride as a kind of guiding force for the series, meaning that the mystery surrounding her death will drive much of the story.
The concept gives the show an intriguing combination of friendship drama, mystery and thriller elements. The bachelorette-party setting also provides an opportunity for the series to explore secrets and conflicts between characters before and after the murder.
Kylie Jenner’s First Major Acting Role
Although Kylie Jenner has spent most of her career in reality television and business, she has previously experimented with acting and voice work.
Jenner became widely known after appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which premiered in 2007 when she was still a child. Over the years, she developed a huge social-media following and built Kylie Cosmetics into one of the most recognizable celebrity beauty brands.
Her acting credits have so far been relatively limited. She appeared as herself in the 2018 film Ocean’s 8 and later provided a voice performance for the animated special Trolls: Holiday in Harmony.
More recently, Jenner attracted attention for her appearance in Charli XCX’s film The Moment. That performance appears to have encouraged her to explore more opportunities in scripted entertainment.
Now, Bachelorette Weekend represents a much bigger challenge because Jenner is not simply appearing as herself. She is taking on a fictional character and helping carry a mystery-driven television story.
Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian Team Up
One of the most interesting aspects of Bachelorette Weekend is the collaboration between Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian.
Kim Kardashian has increasingly expanded beyond reality television and business into scripted acting and producing. Her recent work has included major roles in scripted projects, while she has also taken on executive-producer responsibilities.
The new Hulu thriller gives the sisters an opportunity to work together behind the scenes as well as place Kylie at the center of the story.
Kim Kardashian is attached as an executive producer alongside Kylie Jenner, Lauren Oliver and Aaron Kaplan.
Their involvement could give the project an additional level of public attention. The Kardashian-Jenner family already has an enormous global audience, and fans who have followed the family for years are likely to be interested in seeing Kylie enter a new area of entertainment.
Lauren Oliver Brings a Mystery Background
The series is being created by Lauren Oliver, an author and screenwriter known for young-adult and suspense-oriented storytelling.
Oliver is particularly known for Before I Fall, a novel that combines mystery, drama and questions about life, relationships and personal choices.
For Bachelorette Weekend, Oliver is moving into a darker mystery format. The project is based on an unpublished novel by Flora Collins with the same title, according to reports.
The combination of Oliver’s writing experience and the project’s thriller premise could help the series appeal to viewers who enjoy murder mysteries and relationship-driven dramas.
Why Kylie Jenner Is Moving Into Acting
Kylie Jenner’s decision to pursue acting is not completely unexpected.
For years, Jenner has been one of the world’s most recognizable celebrity personalities. Her career has already included reality television, beauty products, fashion and social media.
However, scripted acting is a different challenge.
In an interview earlier in 2026, Jenner reportedly indicated that she had received several scripts and wanted to do more acting, particularly comedy, but had not yet found the right project. Her recent performance in The Moment appears to have helped demonstrate that she is interested in taking the next step.
Bachelorette Weekend could therefore become an important turning point in her entertainment career.
Rather than making a brief celebrity appearance, she will be playing a central fictional character and also taking on an executive-producer role.
The Murder Mystery at the Center
The central mystery is what makes Bachelorette Weekend particularly intriguing.
The story begins with a group of friends coming together for a celebration. But when the bride is found murdered, the entire group becomes part of the investigation.
The women are reportedly treated as suspects, creating a situation where friendships, secrets and possible motives become increasingly important.
This setup allows the series to explore an important thriller question: Who could have wanted the bride dead?
Was the murder caused by an old secret? Was there tension within the friendship group? Did someone at the bachelorette weekend know more than they revealed?
The show is expected to use these questions to build suspense and keep viewers guessing.
A Possible Pretty Little Liars-Style Appeal
Early descriptions of Bachelorette Weekend have led some entertainment outlets to compare its setup to shows such as Pretty Little Liars, although the new Hulu project is aimed at a more mature audience.
The comparison makes sense because both concepts involve close friends, secrets and a mystery surrounding a death.
However, Bachelorette Weekend has its own distinctive setting. Instead of focusing on teenage characters, it centers on adults attending a bachelorette celebration that becomes a crime scene.
That combination could allow the show to blend dark humor, relationship drama and suspense.
The bachelorette-party environment also gives the creators plenty of opportunities to explore personalities and hidden conflicts before the murder occurs.
Hulu’s Interest in the Project
The project is being developed for Hulu at a time when the streaming service continues to expand its selection of scripted dramas and thrillers.
However, it is important to distinguish development from an official release.
Current reports say Bachelorette Weekend is nearing a straight-to-series order, meaning Hulu is moving toward formally ordering the project but an official release date has not been announced.
There is also no confirmed premiere date at this stage.
That means viewers should not expect the series to arrive immediately. More information about production, filming, the remaining cast and release timing is likely to emerge if Hulu officially gives the project a series order.
What Can Fans Expect From Kylie Jenner?
The biggest question surrounding the project is naturally Kylie Jenner’s performance.
Because most of her television experience comes from reality programming, viewers will be watching closely to see how she handles a scripted thriller.
Her character is especially interesting because the bride’s death appears to happen early in the story, meaning Jenner’s performance may work differently from a traditional lead role.
Even after her character’s death, the bride is expected to remain central to the mystery.
The role could therefore require Jenner to establish a memorable character quickly while allowing the other characters and investigation to carry the story forward.
It is also possible that flashbacks, memories or other storytelling techniques could allow the character to remain part of the narrative.
Kim Kardashian’s Growing Scripted Career
Kylie’s move into scripted television also follows Kim Kardashian’s increasingly visible career in scripted entertainment.
Kim has already demonstrated that she is interested in acting and producing outside the reality-TV world that made her famous.
Her involvement in Bachelorette Weekend therefore creates an interesting parallel between the sisters.
Kim has been developing her scripted career, while Kylie is now beginning to take larger acting roles.
Their collaboration could eventually lead to more projects involving the Kardashian-Jenner family, particularly if Bachelorette Weekend performs well.
Why the Series Could Become a Major Entertainment Story
There are several reasons why Bachelorette Weekend could attract attention even before its premiere.
First is Kylie Jenner herself. Her enormous global audience guarantees that news about her acting career will receive substantial attention.
Second is the Kardashian connection. With Kim Kardashian serving as an executive producer, the project brings together two of the family’s most recognizable members.
Third is the mystery format. Murder mysteries remain popular across streaming platforms because they encourage viewers to speculate about suspects, motives and twists.
Finally, the project represents a career change for Kylie.
Fans who have watched her grow up on television may now be curious to see whether she can successfully transition from reality-TV personality and entrepreneur into a serious scripted performer.
Kylie Jenner’s Future in Entertainment
If Bachelorette Weekend moves forward successfully, it could open the door to additional acting opportunities for Jenner.
Her recent comments about wanting to do more acting suggest that this is not simply a one-time experiment.
The entertainment industry has seen numerous celebrities successfully move between different areas of entertainment. Jenner already has experience with television, film appearances, voice acting, fashion and business, giving her a broad platform from which to build another career.
A successful performance in a thriller series could make her more attractive to filmmakers and television producers.
It could also allow her to experiment with different genres, including comedy, drama and potentially action or horror.
When Will Bachelorette Weekend Be Released?
At the moment, fans should be patient.
Reports published in October 2026 indicate that the Hulu project is nearing a series order, but there is no confirmed premiere date yet.
Casting information beyond Kylie Jenner is also expected to develop as the project moves forward.
Once Hulu officially orders the series and production begins, additional information should become available about filming, the supporting cast, episode count and release schedule.
For now, the most important confirmed development is that Kylie Jenner is attached to star and executive produce the thriller.
Conclusion
Kylie Jenner’s upcoming Hulu thriller Bachelorette Weekend could become one of the most interesting new celebrity-led television projects.
The series combines a mysterious murder, a group of friends, hidden secrets and a high-profile cast member making her first major scripted television appearance.
For Jenner, the project represents a significant step beyond reality television and into scripted acting. Her role as both star and executive producer also suggests that she is taking the new career direction seriously.
The involvement of Kim Kardashian adds another layer of interest, while creator Lauren Oliver and Kapital Entertainment bring established entertainment experience to the project.
Although Bachelorette Weekend has not yet received a confirmed premiere date, its premise has already generated considerable interest. If Hulu officially gives the project a series order, fans will likely be watching closely for more casting announcements and production updates.
For Kylie Jenner, this could be the beginning of a new chapter—one that takes her from reality-TV superstar and beauty entrepreneur to a more established name in scripted entertainment.
